“I feel we have to offer a new contract, so to speak, to the latest generations.
It is destructive for their cerebral capabilities to treat them like puppies, thereby stimulating the emotional aspect alone.  We have to instead make young people understand from the earliest age that they can act on the basis of their own rational capabilities”.

Rita Levi Montalcini
Nobel Laureate in Medicine

In “Scientifico!” Alessandro Libertini and Véronique Nah bring a unique science lesson to the stage.  Many of the concepts at the basis of scientific thought are expressed using only very few words, a few drawings, the sound of a piano, and performing very simple experiments.

The two interpreters bring to life a narrative that abounds in inventions of sight and sound:  the audience is invited to experience the pleasure of wonder, the sensation of vivid and sudden surprise perceived when one learns something new, extraordinary, strange, unexpected.

The capability to be astonished belongs to the child, the artist, and the scientist, just as it belongs to everyone that craves knowledge. “The ancient Greeks used to say that astonishment lies at the start of knowledge, and that when one ceases to be astonished, one risks to stop knowing” (E. Gombrich, Art and Illusion).
