Pinocchio at Bozar!

bozar

An Art Nouveau architectural masterpiece by Victor Horta, a jewel of the Belgian cultural heritage, the BOZAR – Palace of Fine Arts of Brussels – hosts an intense cultural and artistic activity of international interest.  On Sunday, May 17, in the M Hall of Bozar, the Piccoli Principi Company presented the show “Con gli occhi di Pinocchio ( with Pinocchio's eyes)”.  Belgium thus renews its interest for the Company’s work.  In the past, the Piccoli Principi had been invited several times to participate in festivals, tours, and projects for productions.  In this regard, we recall:  Zicht op Afrika (Visions of Africa), a show co-produced with Bronks of Brussels; In het spoor van Miles (Starting from Miles) co-produced with Victoria (today CAMPO); Pinokkio – een vertelling (One Thing for Another) staged by Blauw Vier (today Laika); Twaalf (Twelve) staging of Jeux Interdits (today Villanella); De tooverfluit, show by Dick Van der Harst and Alessandro Libertini produced by Het muziek Lod and Het Paleis.

A Puppet by Alessandro Libertini in the Museum of the General Academic State Puppet Theatre of Moscow

A promise is a promise!
Almost one year after the Company’s thrilling Moscow experience – Obraztsov, tema e variazioni presented at the Festival of the General Academic State Puppet Theatre, named after Sergey Obraztsov – Alessandro Libertini has finally completed the construction of a puppet to present to the museum with the same name as the theatre.  On the occasion of the festival, museum director Boris P. Goldovsky had expressed the desire to have a puppet by the highly esteemed Tuscan company to place alongside those of his collection.  Beneath the deep, watchful eyes of Sergey Obraztsov, whose portrait hangs in his workshop, Libertini cut and sewed fabrics and materials, creating a puppet that seems endowed gifted with life and a soul.
